  2. WHEATFIELD SOUL is The Guess Who's 1st album, although it does not match their '70s output, it does contain one massive SONG that launched their career. Includes the hit: "These Eyes". A highlight of note is: "A Wednesday in Your Garden"/5(32).
  3. WHEATFIELD SOUL was the first disc of THE GUESS WHO and it was wonderful to hear those long lost songs once again, some i had not heard for over 60 years if you can believe that. A Canadian great, in and even more so now in (a lifetime later) long after the band itself had broken up/5(33).

  5. The album is wildly varied, from the baroque pop of “A Wednesday in Your Garden,” “Maple Fudge," and “Found Her in a Star” (all recalling late-’60s Bee Gees and The Zombies' Odessey and Oracle) to the Doors-esque “Friends of Mine” and the drone and fuzz of “Love and a Yellow Rose” (with Randy Bachman’s sitar). The latter.
  6. Wheatfield Soul by the Guess Who has become a collectors item of sorts over the years, fetching various prices in fan circles, and it is an important "first" step for the reconstituted group which initially hit with "Shakin' All Over" when it was led by Chad Allan.5/

  8. One of the most disappointing songs by the Guess Who was included on their RCA debut, Wheatfield Soul, when the group still had a question mark at the end of its name. "Friends of Mine" is credited to Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings, though it is clearly a band jam effort, a wandering ten-minute-and-three-second oddity that producer Jack Richardson should have put the clamps on.
